Kariya Highway Oasis

A newly-established travel center on Ise-wangan Expressway in Kariya, Aichi Prefecture. The entire area, including the rest areas on the inbound and outbound lanes, is connected by a single promenade, and considered like a “city”. Also, to promote walking, inverted L-shaped pillar signage was placed every 50m. The sign pillars provide clear information from a distant view, as well as even more information when viewed up-close. Therefore, whether you are far away in the vast parking lot, between the signs, or standing right in front of one, the appropriate information and signage is displayed.

刈谷ハイウェイオアシス
愛知県刈谷市の伊勢湾岸自動車道に新設されたパーキングエリア。上下線PAを含め全体を一本のプロムナードで結び、「街」に見立て、50mおきに逆L字型のサインを置くことで散歩を促した。逆L字型サインには遠景から近景まで、それぞれの距離・シーンに応じた情報を発信している。
